Rooted in the Word, Victorious in Prayer: A Conversation with Megan Allen

One of the greatest joys of hosting the Praying with Victory podcast is the opportunity to sit down with women who are walking deeply with God and helping others do the same. In this episode, I had the privilege of speaking with Megan Allen from Megan Allen Ministries—a woman whose life and ministry are rooted in Scripture and passionate about prayer!

From the moment we began our conversation, Megan’s heart for the Lord and for women’s discipleship was clear. She shared how she came to know Jesus over 20 years ago, and how God used a faithful woman in her church to introduce her to the inductive Bible study method. That moment—just Megan, her Bible, and the Holy Spirit—was a turning point. For the first time, she realized she could hear directly from God through His Word.

Isn’t that a beautiful truth? That the God of the universe wants to speak to us, personally and powerfully, through His Word?

Megan didn’t keep that moment to herself. Over the years, she became trained as a Bible study leader, and in 2018, she felt the Lord calling her to combine her two passions—blogging and teaching God’s Word—into what would become Megan Allen Ministries. Through her blog, online resources, and YouTube channel, she now equips women everywhere to study the Bible for themselves and grow in their relationship with God.

One part of our conversation that really stayed with me was when Megan talked about praying God’s Word back to Him. She reminded us that when we pray Scripture, we’re aligning our hearts with God’s will—and we can be confident that we are praying in Jesus’ name. What a powerful truth for those moments when we feel unsure of what to say!

She said it so simply and beautifully: “As we spend time in the Word—reading it, meditating on it, memorizing it—it becomes the foundation of our prayers.” That foundation, Megan shared, is also crucial in spiritual battles. In a world filled with confusion and chaos, praying God’s Word anchors us, strengthens us, and reminds us who the real enemy is—and who our victorious Savior is!

As we look forward to the upcoming Praying with Victory Summit, Megan hopes that women walk away feeling equipped—equipped to pray with confidence, to study God’s Word with depth, and to stand firm in the spiritual battles we all face. She longs to see women realize that prayer isn’t just part of the Christian life—it is the Christian life. It’s our lifeline, our weapon, and our intimate connection with the Lord!

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your Word, which is alive, powerful, and full of truth. Thank You for women like Megan who faithfully teach and equip others to study Scripture and draw near to You. Lord, help us to be women who love Your Word and pray it boldly. Teach us to recognize Your voice through the pages of the Bible and to stand firm in every battle, knowing You go before us. May our prayers be rooted in truth, filled with faith, and covered in Your grace.
