Welcome!
So glad you stopped by! I am Christin a wife and a homeschool mom of three precious princesses, and one charming prince, with an insatiable desire to help build women in the area of prayer and Bible study!
I am a former elementary school teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI. I am a former Sunday School curriculum writer, a current blogger, and passionate lover of Jesus. I have served as a women’s Bible study teacher, small group leader, and have written children’s articles for a Christian magazine called The Banner.
I have been married to my amazing husband for 17 years. My husband has an undergrad in business, as well as Christian Theology from Kuyper College with a Master’s degree in Biblical Studies from Cornerstone Theological Seminary, both in Grand Rapids, MI. Together, we have over 20+ years of experience in Christian ministry serving in various ministries in the local church.
Statement of Faith
I believe….
~In salvation through Jesus Christ (John 3:16)
~The Bible is the inspired Word of God through the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
~In the Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit) (1 Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 4:6, John 14:6, John 14:26)
~That Jesus was crucified on the cross and was resurrected from the grave (John 19:18, Luke 24:1-53)
~That the Church represents believers all over the world who profess faith in Jesus as their Savior, and are committed to serving Him. (Ephesians 2:20-22, Ephesians 1:22)
What is Garments of Splendor?
My blog Garments of Splendor is about discovering the transforming power we have through the spiritual clothing of Christ.
Jesus came to earth, died, and rose again in victory to exchange our spiritual clothing of sin and shame for brilliant garments of praise, righteousness and eternal salvation (Is 61:10).
The chains of our past have been broken. Like the nation of Israel, God is calling us to arise and walk in freedom:
Awake, awake O Zion,
Clothe yourself with strength. Put on your garments of splendor, O Jerusalem…
Shake off your dust; Rise up, sit enthroned, O Jerusalem. Free yourself from the chains on your neck,
O captive Daughter of Zion. Isaiah 52:1,2b
This blog is about gaining a new spiritual wardrobe and putting on shimmering garments of splendor and strength. The term splendor is defined as beauty, brilliance, magnificence and grandeur.
To put on these things is to adorn ourselves with the very glory of God.
That’s the kind of clothing I want to wear, don’t you? This is what our Savior has custom-designed just for us!
I pray that in this blog you will discover:
• How to find true freedom and embrace your identity in Christ
• How to live confidently and securely in the truth of God’s love
• How to deepen your prayer life and walk in power and victory
I’m so glad you’re on this journey with me!
Feel free to stay a while, and come back with a friend or two!
Remember, we are all created in God’s image, showcasing His glory and splendor.
When people notice your new “wardrobe”, point them to Jesus—the one and only Savior, King, and Master Designer.
Thanks for visiting!
Christin
