In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the struggles we face. Life’s challenges often come unexpectedly, leaving us feeling broken, lost, or alone. But even in our darkest moments, God is with us—offering His love, His peace, and His presence through the power of prayer.
In this episode of the Praying with Victory podcast, I had the privilege of speaking with Hadassah Treu, an award-winning author, speaker, and poet. Hadassah’s testimony is nothing short of inspiring, and it reminded me of just how powerful prayer can be, not only as a way to communicate with God but as a means to heal and grow in our faith.
Hadassah shared her incredible journey with us, which began in the midst of deep pain. A widow, Hadassah’s faith was tested in ways many of us can’t imagine. Yet, it was through prayer that she found the strength to keep moving forward. Her story of how she came to the Lord through prayer, even before she knew Him, is a powerful reminder that God hears the cries of our hearts, even when we don’t yet have the words to say.
Before Hadassah knew the Lord, she found herself praying in desperation. She was struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts, but she cried out to the universe, asking if there was a God—if He could reveal Himself to her. In that vulnerable moment, God met her right where she was. Hadassah’s testimony is a beautiful reminder that God is always listening, and even when we don’t have the words, He understands our hearts.
As Hadassah shared her journey of faith, she emphasized how prayer has been the cornerstone of her relationship with God. It is more than just words; it is a two-way communication with the Creator. Prayer is the lifeline that connects us to God, and in that connection, we receive His love, His guidance, and His strength.
Hadassah beautifully described prayer as a way to “empty ourselves” but also to “receive from Him.” It’s in this sacred space where we can pour out our hearts, even in tears, and God hears us. He always hears us.
What struck me the most in our conversation was Hadassah’s insight into how prayer is essential to spiritual growth. It’s not just a ritual or something we do when we need something from God. It’s a lifeline that keeps us connected to Him in every season of life, whether we are in moments of joy or walking through seasons of grief.
She encouraged listeners to embrace prayer, to approach it simply and without complication, just as we would speak to a dear friend or loving Father. God is not interested in fancy words—He simply wants us to show up, to be real, and to meet Him in the quiet moments of our lives.
Hadassah’s words also reminded me that prayer is not just about what we ask for. It’s about inviting God into every area of our lives. We often try to navigate life on our own, thinking we have to have it all figured out. But the truth is, God wants to be a part of every aspect of our lives. Whether it’s relationships, work, parenting, or personal struggles, prayer invites God’s power and presence into each area, helping us grow and find victory in every season.
As we look ahead to the Praying with Victory Summit, I encourage you to consider how prayer can transform your own life. Just as Hadassah found healing and strength through prayer, so can we. Prayer is not just for the perfect or the strong; it’s for the broken, the hurting, and the seeking. God’s invitation to connect with Him is open to all of us, no matter where we are on our journey.
A Prayer for Healing and Strength
Lord,
Thank You for the reminder that You are always near, ready to listen and embrace us with Your love. We come before You today with hearts full of gratitude for Your unwavering presence in our lives. Lord, we know that prayer is the channel through which we connect with You, and we ask for Your help to make prayer a daily part of our walk with You.
For those who are struggling right now, feeling lost or alone, I pray that You would meet them in their pain. Comfort them with Your peace and fill their hearts with hope. Help them to understand that You hear every prayer, every cry of the soul, even when words fail us.
We invite You, Lord, into every area of our lives—into our relationships, our work, our families, and our struggles. We pray that Your power will flow through us, bringing healing, growth, and victory. May our hearts be open to Your guidance, and may we trust that You are always with us, even in the darkest times.
Thank You for being a loving Father who never leaves us. We trust in Your timing, in Your plan, and in Your perfect love. Help us to stay rooted in You through prayer, and may we always find our strength in Your presence.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
