In a world filled with endless health trends and quick fixes, it can be easy to forget the one thing that truly guides us toward wholeness: our relationship with God.
In the latest episode of the Praying with Victory podcast, I had the privilege of sitting down with Laura Ramos, a certified nutritional therapy practitioner, YouTuber, and a woman whose faith has shaped every aspect of her health journey.
What started as a struggle with rheumatoid arthritis in her twenties has evolved into a beautiful story of faith, healing, and surrender.
Laura’s journey is a powerful reminder that healing doesn’t always come in the way we expect, but it always comes through God’s grace. For Laura, the healing process wasn’t marked by immediate miracles, but by a consistent, surrendered heart—a heart that grew deeper in prayer and trust with each passing day.
She shares how prayer, while not always bringing immediate answers, transformed her heart. It brought her to a place of surrender, where she was able to say, “Lord, I trust You. I don’t understand why I’m walking through this, but I know You’re with me.”
This is a beautiful, yet challenging place to be. We often pray for God to fix our problems, heal our bodies, and give us the answers we long for. And while God does answer prayers in miraculous ways, sometimes His answer is an invitation to trust Him through the process, to lean into His strength and surrender our timelines.
For Laura, prayer became less about pleading for immediate healing and more about seeking God’s presence in the midst of the struggle. She acknowledged that, even if the healing didn’t come in the way she expected, God is still good, still faithful, and still sovereign.
One of the most powerful takeaways from this conversation was Laura’s understanding of the connection between health and faith. So often, we compartmentalize our physical well-being from our spiritual life, but Laura reminds us that our health is deeply intertwined with our relationship with God.
Our bodies are temples, and we are called to steward them with love, wisdom, and care. When we invite God into our health journey, we invite His guidance, His peace, and His healing touch—whatever that may look like.
Laura’s transformation wasn’t just about changing her diet or adopting a healthier lifestyle; it was about a deeper, more intimate connection with God through prayer. She found that in the mundane moments—whether cooking meals from scratch, tending to her garden, or homeschooling her children—prayer became a constant thread that wove through every aspect of her day.
Through these small, seemingly insignificant moments, God’s presence became real and tangible.
For those of us struggling with health challenges, Laura’s story offers hope. It’s a reminder that even in the waiting, God is working. Even when healing doesn’t come in the way we imagine, God’s presence is enough.
And when we surrender our health—and all areas of our lives—into His hands, we can trust that He will guide us every step of the way.
As we continue to navigate our own health journeys, let’s remember to invite God into every part of our lives, especially our struggles.
Let’s pray with victory, knowing that God is not distant from our pain but is right there with us, guiding us toward healing in His perfect way and time!
A Prayer for Healing and Trust
Father God,
Thank You for the gift of life and for the beautiful reminder that You are with us in every season, especially when we face health challenges. We confess that at times, we grow weary, and our faith falters. We ask for Your strength and Your peace to fill us as we walk through difficult health journeys.
Lord, just as You have been faithful to Laura, we trust that You will be faithful to us. Help us surrender our bodies, our health, and our timelines into Your hands. Teach us to pray with hearts of surrender, trusting that Your ways are higher than ours and Your timing is perfect.
We thank You for Your healing touch, whether it comes miraculously or through the process of restoration.
May we always remember that our health is not separate from our spiritual walk, but a beautiful part of the stewardship You’ve called us to. Lord, give us wisdom, discernment, and faith to walk boldly in Your truth. May we always seek Your guidance in every step, knowing that You are the one who sustains us.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.
May this post remind you that health is a journey, one that requires patience, prayer, and trust in God’s perfect will. No matter where you are on your journey, know that God is with you, and He is faithful to see you through!
