45 Powerful Psalms for Protection

What a blessing it is to know that our great God will protect us and give us guidance! The word protect (some translations use the word preserve) in Hebrew means to guard, watch, watch over, or keep (source).

As you read through these Psalms of protection, know that the Lord will guard and watch over you as you trust in him each day.

You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Psalm 32:7

Do not withhold your mercy from me, Lord; may your love and faithfulness always protect me. Psalm 40:11

Psalm 91 is one of the most well-known Psalms for protection. It has served as a great encouragement for many people over the years. You can read a post specifically about praying Psalm 91 for protection here.

In this post, I will also reference various Scriptures from Psalm 91.

Psalm 91:1-4

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High

    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,

    my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you

    from the fowler’s snare

    and from the deadly pestilence.

He will cover you with his feathers,

    and under his wings you will find refuge;

    his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
